Media, Memes, and More Workshop
This two-week workshop addresses the question “who am I?” by blending journalism and video to produce blogs, websites, videos and other multiplatform technologies for an online presence. The journey to reaching these goals includes exploring individual perceptions, questions of ethics and unique language constructs while tapping into and inspiring creativity, writing skills and video skills. A professional media writer, editor, videographer and additional guests will lead rising 6th through 12th-grade students through all aspects of digital storytelling.
The camp runs weekdays July 10 – 14 and July 17 – 21. Classes will be held 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Genworth Brightlights Education Center located on the third floor of Dominion Arts Center: 600 E.Grace Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Registration for the camp is $400.

Please note that students are not enrolled until payment is received.
Once registration and payment is received, you will be contacted by a member of the education staff at RPAA and sent further information, including a insurance/health information form and photo release/waiver to fill out and sign. These forms will need to be completed and brought with student(s) on the first day of the course.
Withdrawing from course: Any refunds for withdrawal are considered on a case by case basis by the Director of Education. Please note that if you must withdraw from the course less than two weeks prior to the start date, you will not receive a refund.
