Super Sugar Beats

Craig Evans (bass and vocals) was born in San Antonio, Texas and has grown up loving music. His early tastes were formed from the highest artistic standards – TV theme songs & Saturday cartoons, especially those that had bands in them. He started performing while watching The Archies & The Partridge Family, usually with a badminton racquet for a guitar or a spoon for a mic. He’s since moved on to bigger spoons. Craig also plays in The Taters and frequently sings or plays with whoever will have him.

Will Jones (acoustic guitar and vocals) grew up in South Richmond, where he and his older sister, Laura, spent Saturday mornings watching Looney Toons and other cartoons. Their TV habits formed so early that they initially snacked on Cheerios mixed with water – a concoction dubbed “Finger Stew” – because they were too small to pour from a gallon of milk without making a mess. Will also plays in Diamond Heist, Sweet Lonesome, and who knows how many other bands!

Gary Fralin (Keyboard. And hats) Local Richmond, Virginia musician for decades and spent a lot of time playing my drums (this was before I discovered the piano) along to Monkees records and other pop recordings of the late 60’s and early 70’s. Coco Puffs were my go to whenever I could persuade my mom to buy them. Gary was a founding member of Richmond legends The Bopcats, and most any weekend of the month can be found on a piano somewhere.

Kris Krull (drummer boy, vocals) is a well seasoned beat provider & 70s kid. He digs the bubblegum and really loves the AM Gold! Quisp was his cereal of choice.

Bradley Tucker (electric guitar/vocals)grew up in the 60’s and 70’s watching all of the right cartoons and shows and eating all of the right breakfast cereals while listening to tremendous amounts of bubble gum and sunshine pop music in preparation for his current position with The Super Sugar Beats. Brad also plays as part of The Taters and various other combinations in town.

Susan Stewart (percussion, vocals, kung fu moves) developed her love of music by singing along with the radio while riding in the backseat of her parents’ Ford Fairlane in the early 70s. She loved Fruity Pebbles because of all the colors, but her Mom only bought Frosted Flakes because they were “healthier.” Go figure.
