Greater Richmond Wolf Trap

Greater Richmond Wolf Trap

Our previous arts-integrated early childhood literacy program (ELLA) is now operating as Greater Richmond Wolf Trap!  It replicates Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts’ proven model for early childhood arts integration by using music, theater, and dance to teach early literacy skills in Richmond-area schools. The program incorporates artist residencies in the classroom, community field trips, and parental involvement in support of learning that takes place seamlessly between classroom, home, and community environments.

In October, Manager of Regional Preschool Centers for Richmond Public Schools Dr. Johnnye Massenburg-Johnson, the chair of RPAA Board of Directors Rodney T. Willett, Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, Vice President of Education for the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts Akua Kouyate-Tate, First Lady of Virginia Pamela Northam, Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts President and CEO Arvind Manocha, Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. James Lane, and Superintendent of Richmond Public Schools Jason Kamras announced the launch of RPAA's partnership with Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
