The wait is over…it’s time for the Genworth Lights Up! Youth Series Grand Finale!  

After being on the road all season, we’re excited to come home to Dominion Energy Center for the Performing Arts on May 11th. This FREE event will offer more than 20 interactive workshops and performances for youth of all ages!

Families will participate in theatre, dance, music, digital media, and visual arts workshops provided by local artists and arts organizations, including Latin Ballet of Virginia, Virginia Stage Combat School, Cadence, Oakwood Arts, The Sage Nest, Jesse the Juggler, Richmond Ballet, Baby Artsplay!™ teaching artists, and MORE! 

Doors will open at 9:00 AM the day of the event for families to check in and choose their own arts adventure for the day. All activities will run from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. 

Pre-registration is closed. On-site registration will begin at 9:00 AM when doors open. We look forward to seeing you there!

Join together in song and dance with your infants and toddlers! Using the book, “Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumbs” by Al Perkins, young performing artists and their caregivers will explore steady beat and simple rhythms through movement and percussive instruments.

The Virginia Stage Combat School

Join us in a Galaxy (not so) Far Away to learn how embrace the ways of Stage Combat! Parents are welcome to join along with their Padawans!


Auditioning can be stressful! This workshop will give you the tools to present your best self in any audition situation.

Puppets Off Broad

Let’s celebrate spring with pollinator puppets! Create flapping, flying butterflies and bats in an assortment of colors with Puppets Off Broad Street, while learning some fun facts about Virginia’s pollinators.

The Sage Nest

Join Ms. Danielle, a passionate Montessori educator and dedicated process art enthusiast, for an enriching open craft studio experience! Delve into a world of artistic exploration with hands-on materials that ignite creativity, encompassing drawing, painting, jewelry crafting, and clay exploration. Regardless of age, participants will depart feeling artistically fulfilled and inspired!

Oakwood Arts with Raven Smith

Learn how to make paper replicas of flowers with paper artist Raven Smith. Then turn the colorful paper creations into wearable accents for photographic portraits in an Oakwood Arts Photo booth run by Oakwood Arts Mentors from the OA JET program.


Richmond Ballet

An uplifting and inspiring performance by student representatives from the Minds In Motion program and School of Richmond Ballet as they share the importance of community, teamwork, and inclusivity.

Jesse the Juggler

Join juggler and educator Dr. Jesse Joyner for a whirlwind of corny puns, tricks, and stunts that you should definitely not try at home!

Latin Ballet of Virginia

Fiesta del Sol celebrates the Caribbean’s wonderful melting pot of cultures with influences from Native communities, European colonizers and the great African culture that has marked the Caribbean with an incredible Caribbean history.
