RPAA donors are Champions for the Performing Arts and believe that all members of our community should have access to the positive benefits of participation in and engagement with the arts. From our education initiatives to artistic programming to support services, RPAA contributes to a vibrant performing arts sector for the Richmond region.

Since September 2009, RPAA has served nearly 3.5 million patrons and engaged over 48,000 students, teachers, and families. More than $4 million has been invested in providing arts education opportunities to the region, largely at no cost to families or schools. 

Gifts made to RPAA are invested in:

  • Making high-quality arts education and learning opportunities available for all students, educators, and families in our region.
  • Increasing the accessibility of professional performance spaces and resources for artists and arts organizations to grow their programs and reach new audiences. 
  • Creating diverse arts experiences highlighting the critical role that the arts play in our lives and the richness of talent in our community from artists of many different backgrounds. 

With your investment, RPAA can provide a home for local artists at Altria Theater and Dominion Energy Center and offer outstanding performances, programs, and educational opportunities for our community.

Ways to support RPAA

RPAA offers an Annual Membership program that provides membership benefits at various donation levels. For those donors wishing to participate in RPAA’s Annual Membership program through their gift, membership benefits can be found here. Donors may choose to accept their benefits for the current season or defer to the following season. Donors may also elect to waive all membership benefits for a 100% tax-deductible gift.

Donors may elect to direct their gift in support of RPAA’s BrightLights Education Initiatives, which provide arts education opportunities to students, educators, and families throughout the region. To find out more about these innovative programs, please visit our NURTURE page.

An endowment fund has been established to sustain the mission, venues, and programs of RPAA long into the future. Cash and planned gifts can be dedicated to the endowment to ensure that new generations of patrons have the opportunity to experience the power of the performing arts in our community. Maximize your gift by contacting your employer to determine if a corporate matching gift program is available. Many companies provide matching funds for contributions made by their employees and may also provide a match for volunteer hours.
